Rod and Staff, winner of the Prairie Bayou Stakes, was represented on May 30th by Palladian. Palladian a precocious 2 yr. old gelding scored a daylight victory in a field of six, going five furlongs on the dirt. Palladian dueled inside of the runner up throughout before drawing clear late under mild encouragement. The gelding won by four lengths in a time of 58.60.
